Postby wanda » Thu Jan 08, 2015 4:52 pm

Hello everyone.

There have been a lot of proposals for meets and a lot of disappointments.

I think its time we do this properly.

29 May 2015 - 31 May 2015.

Exploration of South East England.

29 May 2015 (Friday)

Is the day of arrival. Brighton.

Brief meeting by the pier in the evening.

Image

(accommodation to be confirmed)

30 May 2015 (Saturday)

Lots to be seen.

Start of with scenic route to Seven sisters.

Image

Next to check out Bodiam Castle.

Image

Lastly to Camber sands near Rye

(All locations to be agreed by participants, Seven sisters might have quite a bit of walking involved hence might make it a pit stop on our way to other venues)

31 May 2015 (Sunday)

Good byes start our journey back home.

To ensure we have serious participants we need a fee of £10.00 should you want to join. £5.00 would be refunded on the Friday, the other £5.00 would go towards prizes etc agreed upon by participants before hand.

If interested please jot down your user name below and PM for further information.

Confirmed from 09/04/15

Right, that's done. It's in my diary, time is booked off (well Friday afternoon, bit of a trek to Brighton). It won't take long to pack, as hopefully there'll be bugger all space in the boot as the roof'll be down all the way! So come on people sign up it'll be a hoot.

I've been on a few car meets with Land Rovers, Triumphs and Vee dubs over the years and all have been fun. Also with any luck petrol might even be cheap by then :D

Just let Wanda know you're interested.

The big question will be rain or no rain on the day. That is the question.

The company will be the important factor, but sure a bit of sun certainly helps make it memorable...

No worries. Need a hand? Not got a huge amount of time but a job shared is a task halved (or something like that)

Rye? Saturday night? Fish and chips on the beach, Pizza Hut style fast food or proper restaurant? Any ideas on numbers?

I'll have a look see what's around there and PM you later?

I was thinking in case there is rain we need to have an alternative. There is a place called devils dyke which is a bit dear but has a cafe. Not too far from there is a harvester so if worst comes to worst.

If it rains camber sands becomes a bit pointless but I will look around to see if there is something near. (Actually I think there might be an amusement centre near by) but I will look into it.

Hi

Newbie here....Had my 54 plate 1.9 Diesel a couple of weeks & despite the odd leak I am loving it.

I live in & around the area so if you need any help with places to eat etc I could always check them out for you.
Personally I would avoid Devils Dyke, overpriced & aimed at the tourists.
There are some cracking local pubs around that would do good food I am sure.

One question. As I live so close I probably wouldnt stay over both nights. Would that be a problem?

Let me know what I can do to help!!

No problem, I plan to do the same, but please if you know of places do let me know. I just found out that they charge to park at the dyke these days so maybe we might go there just to look and continue on to a nearby pub......
