I'm sure this question has been asked a lot of times on this forum, but I can't seem seem to find a clear answer/soloution to the problem which is when I put the car in first on an incline, I get clutch judder!! Can anyone help me find a permanent soloution to this issue and what can I do to fault find the problem and get things moving and if possible an estimate on how much it likely to cost me for the repair?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Re: Clutch Judder
Hi, I unfortunately don't have any suggestions as to what the cause may be. I have a similar issue on my 2.0 CC as well as on my 1.6 Scenic but it does seem to happen more on a cold engine pull away or when I don't feed enough throttle while releasing the clutch. Could the answer be that simple?
Re: Clutch Judder
I have an answer for you, as I have just fixed mine.
I firstly changed the stabaliser mounting below the gearbox as there was excessive movement of the engine / gearbox. This made no difference what so ever so I then looked at the top engine mounting, which also had excessive movement, but before replacing it too,I shaped a piece of 3mm aluminium to fill the space between the mounting and the rubber. This reduced the movement in the engine and also reduced the clutch vibration significantly. I still had a problem sometimes - when I wasn't expecting it and as my commute to work includes a lot of junctions, roundabouts and traffic lights, it wasn't comfortable. While carrying out other work and already had the bumper and front crossmember removed, I decided to change the clutch also. I can see nothing wrong with the clutch but the concentric slave cylinder had the seal damaged and decided to change it too. Now the car is great to drive with no clutch judder and though I haven't replaced the engine mounting, the drive is really smooth. It's great not hearing the exhaust hitting off the floor as I pull away too!

Re: Clutch Judder
Just to say thanks for the replies, sorry I've not posted sooner, I've had some personal problems that I've had to deal with over the last 3 months.

To rf man:: Forgive me if I'm being thick, but are you saying that if I replace the complete clutch this will fix the clutch judder? Thanks in advance.
