Non leeking cc...

Postby petepete » Thu Jul 31, 2014 6:03 pm

Amazing flash storm with roads turned to rivers and high winds leaving the car looking like it was being jet washed..

My megane doesnt leak, but it did when i bought it :grin :grin

I used the information on this site to adjust my windows, thanks ...

First i adjusted using the adjustment on the bottom of the door to give a very tight fit to the top door rubber ( just able to insert a fingernail with force )

second i discovered there wasnt enough adjustment on the passenger door for that tight fit. I had to slacken the adjustment right off, then go inside the door and adjust the glass clamp in their that would allow me to

get a final adjustment and tight fit on that door rubber.

I now know my cc doesnt leek and adjusted correctly i cant see why anyones should :D

( The door is actually quite clever in that as it hits the striker it is lifted slightly which allows the glass to move under the door rubber and lift up to it - Note for those whose glass doesnt slip under the rubber and

needs the windows lowered and raised to slip under or a slight push as the door is closed before leaving the car : this occurs because the front adjuster is not correctly set and the window is slightly skewed as a result )

Whilst inside the door i noticed some rubber packing with a slightly sticky side in the bottom of the door and this has dropped off the window regulator unit and is renaults attempt to prevent water ingress into it on

my 08 plated car. Message to renault :nut - even a kid knows adhesive tape or pads become unstuck in hot temperatures never mind inside an enclosed metal box/door

one last thing i believe has helped..

I coated all the glass with "mer rainaway" and water just beads and rolls off the car rather than stick to it and track under the rubbers..

( i ve done the house windows as well !!!)

superb product..

Hi there,
New to the site so plz excuse my negligence. Where have you found the info to adjust your windows on here. I have a few small leaks I'd like to nip in the bud asap. Cheers
