RATTLE FROM BACK OF ROOF AREA

Hi. I have an intermittent "Rattle" type noise from the back of the Drivers side Glass Roof/Roof Mechanism under the Plastic Cover.

I tried to get the cover off with out any luck, pulled it down a bit where it is held in place by Metal Clips around the Rubber Window Seal but cannot get it off completely.

If I put the Roof down and up again it seems to go away for a while but then it slowly comes back and gets loader after a time.

Does not seem to do it in the Wet!

I have tried putting a Finger up in to the mechanism and Greasing the parts ETC without any luck.

Have lubricated the Rubber Seals as well.

I stop most squeeks and rattles by using silicone grease spray , put the roof up in the half open postion with the engine running and give all hinges and cables under the rear parcel shelf a spray , I have a pot of silicone grease that I use on the seals of the roof, this method works good for me

Thanks for the information, but I have tried to Grease all the moving parts/Rubber Seals as best as I can but I still have the intermediate Rattle!

Do you know how to get the Plastic Cover off, I managed to get it Lose where it is held in place by the "Metal Clips" at the back and along the outside under the Window Seal but it is still held in place and I cannot seem to release it. If I can get this cover off I can then find out what is Rattling while my Wife drivers the car.

From what I can tell the only part that you can move by Hand is a "Metal Bar" that Operators the Cable that unlocks the Front Catch on the Drivers side.

This Bar is between Two other Bars which I cannot move by Hand, and I wonder if the Bar in the middle is banging one of the outside ones!

The only other thing it could be is something is rubbing on the inside of the Roof or the Plastic Cover.

I notice that most of the moving Metal Joints of the Roof Mechanism have a self Lubricating Plastic Joint!

I no problems from the Passenger side.

If you start the engine you can open the roof and stop in any position , this may help you to find out how to remove the panel , the roof will not remain open so watch your fingers
