What Part is that at window regulator

Hi,

I have a broken window regulator on my Phase 2 CC on the rear right side - the window does not move anymore- the whole car smells like burned capacitor.

I managed to stripe verything down, to get to this part:

it seems to be the source of the smell - what it is, and is it a part of the regulator system and a possible cause for the broken regulator.

Hi - had exactly the same three weeks ago - it is the window regulator that has burnt out due to water ingress. I went to Ebay and sourced a replacement unit built by an auto electrician that comes in a water tight box and only cost £22. Brilliant bit of bKit at a fraction of what Renault will charge for their part that will eventually go again. Fitting the part is simple, but getting to the faulty one requires a bit of time and know how - I have managed to do it and if you need help then get back to me and I will explain the process.
