Locking Button On Keyless Entry Door Handle

Postby DaiTurbo » Tue Mar 20, 2012 1:33 am

The locking button has stopped working on Driver's Side door handle.

The unlocking sensors are still working, and lock still locks and unlocks off the remote.

Can you just change the button (have read somewhere on net you can), or if I buy a secondhand one off eBay, how much of a job is it to change just the handle.

Any info would be gratefully received, PLZ LMK...

It's not a difficult job, you have to remove the storage compartment from the inside door panel so that you can hinge the panel upwards to give access mainly for disconnecting the two electrical plugs.
You also have to first remove the switch cluster by prising it up at the rounded end first.
The switch assembly itself is mounted in the outside door handle and includes the hands free aerial, I cant remember the price from Renault but it wasn't particularly expensive.
There is a specific procedure for removing the handle from the car which I forget, perhaps someone else here can remember.

Mine has become very tempramental, it now only works when it feels like it, but as with yours all other functions work fine.

Exactly like mine was, the only option is to replace the complete unit, it's a cheap and nasty switch with an antennae attached or at least mine was as I have a hands free Renault card. I did at first attempt taking the switch apart to try and fix it but it was futile, a new unit cost me £15.77 including VAT back in October from Renault and It took about an hour to fit.
The part number for mine (drivers door) was: P R77 01 209 344 and called 11E03 Sensor Door.

Mine needed the switch and the antenna assembly and cost me £15.77 , check what you need with Renault, they only need your reg no to tell you.
