Alarm

Postby Vamps » Sat Feb 25, 2012 11:39 pm

Swmbo has had the car for a week, on some days the Alarm will keep going off for no reason and then on other days it does not. Any advice welcome or can the alarm be simply turned off so that it is not a problem?............ :? :?

We have had the alarm go off a few times on ours, no apparent reason, then it also occasionally would say the door was open even though it was n't. Open and close the doors and the message would go.

I was thinking that maybe the false alarms could be caused by the door switch only just registering the door is shut and intermittently sensing the door has been opened even though it has n't, setting the alarm off??

Two weeks ago it would n't lock and kept say there was a door open, turned out to be the switch in the door lock mechanism. Fitted the replacement yesterday. I guess time will tell if it was the cause off the false alarms or not.

One think to rule out the movement sensors, would be disable them when you lock the car and see if the alarm still goes off.

Hi, When does it happen? Our alarm goes off for no apparrent reason, we think it is only after having the roof down. We are going monitor this to find out. I am also going to search on this site for any other threads on this.
