Hi there,

What happen with the tyre pressure computer control when fitting new alloys & tyres?

would the car take 17 and 7J wide alloys with 205 40ZR17 tyres without problems?

what about the PCD, bore and offset?

thanks & regards,

Luis

having second thoughts about the tyres: 205-40 will make unconfortable the car and more noisy :-(

thanks Eddie. All the car is standard but I am looking second hand alloys with tyres in very good condition so I cannot chose the profile I want otherwise I'd stick to the recommended 205-50-17

I wonder how or where i can calculate the different in diametre between my current 205-55-16 and the 205-40-17?

Cheers

Just found the diameter of 205-40-17 is 595.8 mm (23.5") vs current 205-55-16 632.4mm (24.9") vs recommended 205-50-17 637.5mm (25.1")

So yes the different with my actual alloys is 1.4" which is 35.5 mm

what about the tyre pressure sensors if i change the alloys? the computer disable them automatically?
