Xenon retrofit - assistance required

I think I mentioned in a recent post that I'm going to fit Xenon lights to my Phase 1 CC.

I'm getting closer to having all the bits together and am starting to work up a plan.

The front height sensor is easy enough as the plug is already present (although will need quite a bit of cleaning up as it's not got a blank fitted).

The rear is a bit more tricky.. I have the sensor and bracket from a breakers yard, with the plug and 12 inches of cable.

What I'm unsure of is where the cable usually runs.. I've taken a look under the rear seat to see if there is a plug free, but there isn't.

The cable is orange, blue and black.. Would someone with factory xenon lights be able to take a quick look to help me out at all?

I'm going to remove the glovebox tomorrow, to see if I can spot a plug under there, otherwise I'll have to figure out where the front wiring ends up and combined with the megane PDFs, try to work it out that way.

I have the lighting wiring loom for the xenon lights and have sourced washer jets and a second washer pump as well, so I'm hoping that once the UCH is coded for xenon operation, those will work along with the self-levelling motors..

After removing the passenger seat and looking under there and not finding it, I checked under the rear seat again..

There it is.. above the fuel tank sender..

I was expecting it to be on the other side..

So I've had my xenon lights for a few months now and I'm very pleased..

I made up a wiring loom for the rear level sensor and had Wests in Cambridge calibrate the light motors, so it's all good.

They power on, the motors move the lights all the way up, then down to the correct level. All is good.

However, after driving for 1 1/2hrs with the lights on, the offside light has gone out a couple of times, either after going over a bump in the road or after a bout of acceleration through the gears - which makes the car pitch up a bit or makes the engine move in it's mounts a bit..

I've checked all the wiring and it's secure and not stretched..
I have to take the bumper off soon to fit the headlight washers, so I'll check everything out again, I just wondered if anyone else had seen similar and if the bulb/ballast is on it's way out.

If I switch the lights off and on again, they both come back on OK..

Can you swap the bulb/ballasts over from side to side and see if the problem swaps over? This will obviously pinpoint the problem...

Any chance of a full write up & list of what is required? Were Xenons available from the launch and just rarely ticked? Or was the option (and pre-wiring) only available at a certain MY?

Thanks,

Dan
