Steering clunk

Hi there picked up my 2004 Megane CC from the dealer today and it drove home fine. This evening when I maneuvered out of the drive I noticed a clunk from the steering. It only happens when the wheels are pointed straight ahead and you turn the wheel left or right to the point where the road wheels start to pivot. Tried it with the engine off and it gave the same results, when you are driving the car on the road normally the clunk isn't there but then you don't really turn that sharply I suppose.
Has anybody else experienced this or have any idea what it might be before I contact the dealer in the morning?

Broken spring or top mount bearing most likely. Obviously, lots of other things too (ball joints etc).

Yep could be anything I guess, the good news is that the dealer is going to pick the car up and sort the problem out.
Have googled Megane steering clunk and discovered that there can be problems with a pinch bolt on the steering column universal joint, apparently Renault have come up with a fix for it so maybe thats the cause of my clunk.

Davelow Spot on, problem turned out to be the off side top mount bearing, don't know if they did anything else for the MOT, should get the car back tomorrow.
Hoping they might do something about the worn disks, I know I will definitely have to replace them by next year and the rear ones aint that cheap.
