Won't start + 'Braking Fault' error

Hi,

Was wondering whether anyone has experienced the same problem with their Megane Coupe Cabriolet. Mine is a 2007 reg, and is a Dynamique Diesel 1.5 DCI.

When the weather went really cold in Nov/Dec it began playing up to start. I'd hit the Start button, it would try starting and then on the 5th or 6th go it would finally start up. At times, it also gave the error "Braking Fault " on the display. However, it still started up eventually. I took it to garage as I thought it was a battery problem. They checked it out and said battery was perfect and the alternator was perfect too. They put it down to the very cold weather!

Today I tried starting it, the car has power (radio & windows), but no matter how many times I try starting it just wont start up. Again, it displays the message 'Braking Fault', but not everytime I try starting. It seems to be a random error message. The orange coil symbol appears normally when hitting the start button, goes out, and then the car attempts to start.

Can anyone help with this please? I just dont know what the problem could be.

Thanks

Hi there,

Do you remember how you solved this because my Megane Mk2 Diesel 2006 has exactly the same problem?

Any help appreciated.
