new interior ordered :)

Postby shawty500 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 4:52 pm

Hi all thought I would share this with you.

Finally ordered new interior for our CC :)

it is being done in July 2011 due to the companys extensive work going on at the moment.

The company is called stanley trimmers and they normally specialise in Bentley interior, so I have gone for a bentley style.

I will be having the door cards, rear interior quarters, A pillars, Dash, Armrest and the plastic round the handbrake / gearknob done in leather too. Then custom made high gloss body coloured centre console and heater vents :)

What do you think to the choosen style?

Definately will post pics.

cant believe I have previously spent more on a pair of recaros than it costs for a full custom retrim :)

only thing I have to decide on now is the Alloys. I want it classy, so not going with the typical 18" alloys seen on most cars. i will go a standard alloy colour, instead of going black, due to the champagne colour of the car, thinking Audi or Merc alloys.....

I would like to lower it, but all the lowering kits I have seen really stiffen the ride, which isnt my intention, the car isnt driven hard at all. So I would like the low look, but the current comfort.

Any recommendations on these fronts?

btw, not planning on standard front seats for the retim......

I have three types of seat in mind to buy and have retrimmed to go in the megane cc.

1> Mercedes SLK Seats, retrimed in above Bentley Style. (shape of seats can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-BENZ-SLK-AMG-SEATS-/300485258996?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f6512ef4 I will be buying a cheaper damaged set though!)

2> Aston Martin DB7 Seats, again retrimmed in above bentley style (shape of seats can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ASTON-MARTIN-DB7-2000-FRONT-SEATS-/110581122692?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item19bf260684 )

3> Porsche 911 GT Seats, again retrimmed in above bentley style (Shape of seats can be seen here: http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/porsche_911_carrera_cabriolet_2008_interior_frontseat.jpg I have managed to find a set of these seats as bare frame for just £30 as they were in a car fire! but frames are totally intact)

Questions I have are:

1> Has anyone tried fitting seats in their CC from another car, other than custom subframes, any other problems?
2> If I go for the SLK seats, is there a way to rig up the air scarf to use in the CC?

As you can probably tell, I am going to be going all out on this CC, and I have a lot of elegant classy ideas, But I dont want it to look modified, I want it to look as though it could have been factory options, i.e fit together perfectly.
