Heater not up to the job

Hi everyone,

Is it my CC or are all the heaters rubbish? I am a confirmed open roof driver, but the heater in my CC just doesn't do anything on a crisp morning!

I swapped my old Ford StreetKA for the CC. The StreetKA heater could handle -4C outside with no problems.

There seems to be very little air flow into the footwell, even when ALL the air is directed in this direction.

I do wonder if the thermostat is opening too soon, but at over £80 for a new one, I am not inclined to buy a new one when I am not certain that the old one is really knackered!

Does anyone have any bright ideas?

The heater in our 04 CC is as good as any I have used. Far too hot when on full and up to temp which only takes 2-3 miles when its cold outside.

I find in my 04 on a cold winter morn say around 0 or 1 on blower reading 27 for temp it is fine, you actually get a little to hot, so tab it down one to 26 and the car cools rapidly and does not hold a comfortable heat, I also find the foot heating a bit lousy not to bad if it is just mild but once the old winter chill arrives my feet take ages to stop being cold, but never really get warm, my old Fiat had terrible heating more than two people and it would steam up but boy could it melt your feet, in any temp

No complaints about my heater. I drove into work at 5 this morning with the roof down and was as snug as a bug in a rug. Ok, the flying jacket and hat may have had something to do with it. . No, really, it's fine.

Hi,i don't think anyone has mentioned the old pollen filter,quickly gets blocked,stopping air flow through heater,easy to get to ,down on your knees,look up by clutch pedal,oblong shape squeeze and pull out,it bends as it comes out,mine was choked with leaves and debris,i just blew mine out but i don't think they are that dear anyway,hope this helps.

Pollen filter is around £30 ish, changed mine a few months back, heater is no differant. but do agree it can affect it dramatically!

I also have the roof open in winter. I put the heater on, but with the central air vents blowing in my face, lovely and warm!
