Noisy Suspension - Megane CC

Postby bwfc1965 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 7:29 pm

I have a Megane cc 2005 which has recently started making a clonking noise from the front offside. The noise is most obvious when turning the wheel left and right at low speed or stationary. I took the wheel of and identified that the noise was coming from the top of the suspension coil spring. It seems to turn with the wheel and then makes the clonking noise as it gets towards full lock.
Can anyone advise what the problem is?
I have seen posts that suggest the top suspension bearing? How easy are these changed? What are the cost of replacements?

Cheers
