What battery?

Think I need a new battery for my 2004 2.0L petrol Megane CC,and not willing to pay Renault prices,and was wondering what the best battery to buy would be. Has anyone had any bad experiences or changed their battery and not had any problems?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Changing the battery is simple job provided you have the right tools to remove the terminals. Have a look and see whether you have the correct stuff before doing anything, and start on the negative terminal first (to avoid shorting the positive terminal to the chassis with a spanner).

You will probably have to reset the radio code and the windows (lots of posts on here about that). Make sure you have the code.

In terms of batteries, the only significant factors are the rated amp hour capacity, and size. It should be at least the same amp hour as the original and obviously not physically bigger. Any decent Kwik Fit type place will do the job for you (including taking the old battery for recycling).
