DO THE BACK SEATS COME OUT???

Postby jaysere03 » Sat May 16, 2009 5:16 pm

Does anyone know how to remove the back seats in the renault megane cc
the reason im asking is i have a child with asd who needs a specialist car seat the cars seat is simular to those found on buses
2 of the straps wrap around the back rest and connect to buckles that need to go under the back rest, 1 other strap then goes under the seat pad from front and straps to buckle the one tha goes over the back rest.
someone has previously told me that they easily removed theres by "pulling the pinns out" however i carnt seem to locate theese pinns

Finaly worked it out not to hard even though it toook me 3 days to find the 2 screws that release the back rest.
1. to remove the back rest
remove the screws that are located under the trim on the back shelf, with roof off the shelf is easily accsesable the shelf i mean is the one that the rear head rests are fitted to. on each end theres 2 side peices that clip of with a simple wiggle and lifting motion, under each of theose are a screw that once removed allow you to lift the seat upwards until the lower bracket comes away from the back plate of the seat.
very simple to remove and refit.
2. to remove the lower seat pad.
A bit more tricky but with a large flat head screwdriver or something simular its out in seconds
feeling underneath seat pad with fingers you will feel 3 clips push the flat end of screwdriver while gently pulling seat up the bracket is held in by a one way clip so holding the clip in will allow the bracket to be removed.
by removing the seats you can also get to the last screws to remove the complete side panel for rear elec windows etc speakers etc
under the seat pad is the acses point to fuel tank filler gage.
fitting amps etc is made easier when seats are out
and car seats that need to be strapped around seats
however im sure that renault must have there own child car seats as there are 2 fixing points located inbetween the back rest and seat pad of rear seats and a further one thats located in boot accesable by lifting the tab located un the middle of head restraints making fitting quick and simple

YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Jaysere03, I have been trying to find out for days on here how to get em out as I need to get to my pasenger rear window regulator, I did wonder about the base being a pull up job but was worried about forcing it to much as it seems quite tight, was worried about getting the front section up but finding it was attached behind the back rest then can't get it back in, if you know what i mean. would never have got the rear seat out though by taking the roof off
So as you can guess your post is just what I wanted to know, thank you very much for this posting
The child seat fixing are for the universal fitting Isofix child seats I think, mine has little stitched tags on the seat with ISOFIX on them, they are supose to make buying and swopping seats simple as no fitting kit is needed, so I belive, my children have long flown the nest now but supose will have to address this soon with gran children :( so it is not just for a Renault Seat it is for any seat with Isofix fittment 8-)
