Re: Embarrasing horn
You will need to supply your own 20 amp wire and terminals. The bracket included with the horn is suitable for mounting to the original fixing.

Re: Embarrasing horn
I've just rung up the place where I'm picking it up from tomorrow to ask about the 20 amp wire and terminals but they were clueless, do I need to go to an auto electricians place for these? and any ideas on costs?

Re: Embarrasing horn
Yeah any decent autofactors will stock what you need. Easiest place to get it all is halfrauds. They know how to charge for stuff though if you don't have the luxury of a trade card!
You will need a decent set of wire crimps as well.

Re: Embarrasing horn
Thanks for your help! I'm taking it to a friends garage to fit so he should have the accessories, I just want to be prepared with the wiring and terminals.
Thanks again

Re: Embarrasing horn
I'm currently in Halfords at the moment and they only have Halfords terminal blocks 5 amp or 10 amp maximum ratings, 12 sections easily cut to required length it goes on to say, im guessing i need a 20 amp terminal block? Also will I only need one piece of 20 cable?

Re: Embarrasing horn
Ignore the above, ive got hold of the stebel, a 30 amp switching relay free as there wasn't one in the box, 2.5meters 27 amp single cable and some spade slide on front insulated terminals.
How easy is this to do once the bumper is off?

Re: Embarrasing horn
Very simple. Run a couple of wires directly to the battery for constant 12v and ground. Connect up the original horn wiring to the relay and away you go. If you take note of the instructions with the horn you will know which wire goes to which pin.

Re: Embarrasing horn
I was going to attempt it myself but then realized I had zero mechanical skills at all lol, is it defo a front bumper job off? as I'm worried if I get an auto electrician, they won't be able to take the bumper off, and an indy garage won't be able to do the soldering etc

Re: Embarrasing horn
Nevermind, had this fitted today.
The front bumper is quite straight forward to take off, there are 2-3 screws by the wheel arch linings on both sides, some useless plastic clip screws at the top of the bumper just under the bonnet lid, and about 4 metal bolts underneath the front bumper attaching it to the plastic mud tray.
Once the bumper was off, it was a case of taking off the old horn and fitting the new one in its place, creating a new ground and connection to a relay which needs to be fixed somewhere nearby unless you want to run a longer wire than what exists already, the relay needs a ground, wire from switch (steering wheel), power supply (battery) via a fuse holder and 20amp fuse and to the Stebel itself.
If you put the Stebel directly in place of the old horn, the bonnet release lever will catch on it when you try and pull it, so this ended up just being pulled off as it can still be released from the plastic black where the lever goes into instead.
In addition to the Stebel, you'll need a 20 amp relay (mine didnt' come in the box but the shop gave me one free of charge after I said they should come with one), about 2.5 meters of minimum 20amp wire, 20amp fuse and holder, spade and round headed terminals.
The bumper defo needs to come off so the relay can be mounted somewhere, in terms of doing this in an hour, I reckon more realistically, 90-120 minutes.

Re: Embarrasing horn
Oh yeah! we were laughing our heads off when we tried it out! The default one is just so flat and like a fart that gets caught up between the cheeks, whereas the Stebel is like a twin toned crisp fart heaps louder!
