43.3mpg at present, as you say weather does not help what with lights, heater and rear screen on, + it takes longer for engine to reach operating temp for best fuel economy.
tell you what I have found, heating system works ok with just the two of us in the car, but put another adult in the back so it makes 3 adults the car has to be run at 27 + blower to keep all the windows clear, knock it down to 26 and the rear quarter lights start misting up as well as the glass roof from the back forward, not a real problem just a bit anoying if you carry passengers who don't like a lot of heat.
I also find anything lower than around 50mph you get no airflow through the car to "carry" the heat, so I am always on the blower most times and find that once you get inot the 1 or 2 degree area and below it just sucks cold air through it so it needs the blower to push hot air, I have always found this a bit strange.
The Fiat I had before this car, you would use the blower to clear screen in the morning, but once on the express way no matter what speed the air would come in through the air vents, through the heater matrix and into the car, hey presto "free" hot air, you could actually feel it warming the car, but this CC does not seem to do this for any effective warming you have to run the blower, which of course adds to load and fuel economy in other words, costs you!
Oh also disabled auto headlights as well, sorry but don't need to be told when to light up on headlamps, on the plus side since doing this I havn't had any blown head lamp bulbs, on my way to work there are 5 tunnels and a few dark spots so my headlamps would be on and off like disco lights and in some lighing conditions they even pop on under bridges, so the car sometimes would flash all the way to work, last winter it went through 3 bulbs, which are a complete pain to change, this year none, I put it down to auto headlamps, it is even running on Aldi 5000K Zenon gas H7 bulbs at £4.99 pair bought in Feb, cheap as chips, thought, wont last that long but give em a go, well they are still going!
