Hi, I need to replace one of my headlamps as the plastic lens is damaged.
I have bought a new one but cannot figure out how to remove the whole unit.
Looking from above the HL unit from inside the bonnet I can see a hole above the HL unit, in this hole there is a bolt/screwheaded fixing.
There are also three small plastic looking screws to the left and right of the HL unit that appear to connect the HL unit to the bodywork.
Before I go stripping off parts that do not need removing I would like some advice as to whether I am on the right track, can anyone help?
Kindest Regards.

Re: Headlamp unit removal on 2007 CC
Not sure, but to get the lamp out of a 2004 CC, which can't be that differant.
you need to remover via the silly black plastic clips, inside the engine bay, both black plastic cover panels, one over the washer bottles and the same on the other side, also remove the black plastic cover panel the runs along the front of the car where the bonnet hook is.
once this is done. you can now see the same silly plastic clips along the top of the front bumper remove them, you need to remove bumper to remove h/lamp. what holds the front bumper on? 3 x 10 mm bolts under car, easy to find just lie down under bumper (don't even have to jack it up) and you will see them they also hold the front of the plastic engine tray up as well, take them out all 3, inside the wheel arches on both sides are two per side small torx screws just inside the lip of the wheel arch, again no jacking or wheel removal required, simple to get out and put back, once all 4 are out you need to get hold of the top corner of the bumper where it joins the wheel arch and pull towards you a bit as it is held in place there by a spring type clip which you have to pull the bumper out of, it is realtivly simple has a bit of resistance but it is supose to. remember to push these back into the clips when you put bumper back on.
Bumper should now be loose, ish! it is attached to the headlamps by again Renaults favorite plastic cilps! with the aid of a torch and a thin flat balde screw driver you need to pull on the bumper a bit t oget enough room to see down one of the holes these two clips, the screw driver is use to push down the tab on th ebumper so it passes the lip of the clip on the h/lamp, sounds difficult but it is not it is harder to explain it than do it , what is does is hold the painted part of the bumper flush against the top of the head lamp, they are just a bit fiddly to get to, possibly I would say the hardest part of bumper removal due to the fact you can't really get a good look at what you are doing, once you have poped these two clips on the headlamps the bumper wil lift away, BUT not very far so just lift it up and off and drop it down onto your toe as you will need to hold it in there whilst you suffle across to the fog lamp cable plug and undo it, then you can carry away the bumper, sounds like a lot of work but I can get mine off in around 15 mins, it is one of the simplest I have removed.
Head Lamp is held in by 3 screws, 2 underneath 1 on top, now you will also see a strange looking black plastic "thing" the length of the lamp, your new lamp at a guess will not have it, this actually holds the bumper snugly to the base of the lamp this is held in place by 3 pop rivets you will have to drill these rivets out remove plastic "thing" and I managed to find 3 fatter self tappers to secure it to the base of new lamp. will will also need to remove the levleing motor, which is the screw head at a guess you can see through one of the holes at present, if I remeber rightly it is twist and pull, put it on the new lamp.
Replace lamp on car, you will notice on the back of the lamp there is a metal hex bolt this adjusts the lamp horizontally, this can be got at through the silly bulb replacement hole under wheel arch, my advice if you live on a flat drive with a garage door postiton car where you can get all the above work done ok turn on lights and use electric tape to mark light postions with kickup on the garage door, DO NOT move car after, once you hace got the new lamp on the car BEFORE replacing bumper turn on lights, and adjust the new one to the tape marks on the garage door, vertical adjustment is quite easy and should not really be affected that much as long as you have not turned the screw on top of the electric unit, horizontal adjustmet is a bit of a pain with the bumper on so do it now, whilst bumper is still off, once all lined up replace bumper, I also test all lamps before I go to bumper back on.
DO REMEMBER to push through the bumper hook lever through the front grill, I use a fat screw driver handle in the hook to push it out so I can get hold of it feed it through slot and reconect the fog lamps, once you have got these two done bumper sits on front of car whilst you pop back in the two pointed corners of the bumper into the wing clips I usually fiddle around the with head lamp clips then as the bumper is still manovreable until you feel them clip in place then bolt and screw it back up, replace all trims, job done.
This is actually how you do a 2004 meg CC head lamp I am guessing a 2007 will not be much differant. As said sounds hard but it is actually quite easy to do, 1st time around should take no more than an hour or so.
Hardest part for me where the head lamp to bumper clips as it is quite difficult to see what you are doing
and putting the black plastic "thing" on the bottom of the lamps is a bit of a pain (if you have one) not really sure what it is supose to do apart from it has a small lug on it which fits into a slot in the bumper to hold it snug under the lamp, but I replaced it anyway, thinking about it now I think one of them was a wood screw I used!!! bit short on fixing screws + it caught me unawares, nobody told me about it.
I am sure there is a front bumper removal guide on here some where.
hope it makes some sense to you.
