Well i've not had problems with mine up until the Air con played up the other day.
The roof doesn't leak and has never shown any signs of water ingress. Still operates ok too and not failed once.
Trim still looks new, although i've been very careful not to mark it.
I can say that I had reservations when I was looking but i'm still glad with the choice we made even though the other choice was the VW Eos.
And without sounding biased - I do think it will age better than most cars in its class. Look at the old Peugeot CC's, I think they look Shite now in comparison.
If you read Renaults gumph on the new Megane III CC praising its glass panoramic sunroof. You'd be forgiven for thinking that Renault has forgot they fitted virtually the same panoramic roof to the Megane II CC. It doesn't look all that different at all to the new one. Sure the nose will be off the rather boring Megane III but other than that its not too dissimilar.
Its still a good choice but just shop around abit and check em out, and ask for any proof of work done over the years to see how many faults it may have developed in its life. Basically trying to avoid possible dogs.

Its no sports car. I owned an MGF a few years ago and the Megane is not nearly as fun to drive. More of a good cruiser than anything else. Handles well and as you've probably read it does suffer from some scuttle with the roof down, but not to the point of annoyance. With the roof up I saw no difference from my Megane hatchback I had before the CC. A good drive all in all though. Read the reviews of other makes of hard top covertibles, even the EOS. They all suffer similar problems such as roof leaks.

Driving Experiance!
Depends on what you are coming from, I have driven many cars, the last one being a very nippy Fiat Bravo, and it has taken me quite a while to get into the Renault "grove" for me it is a big car in the front (no rear leg room and seats don't seem to fit most adults in the rear) very comfy ride, and has got very long legs for distance use.
However:
In my experiance I do not like the electric varible steering, gives no feedback to the driver. I miss this feedback.
Glass roof makes the car very airey -but the WEIGHT!!! car wallows on the road if you snatch at the wheel a little, I think the point of gravity becomes to high with the roof on, 1st convertable I have driven that drives better with the roof off. down hill I find 6th no engine braking at all, 5th give you a little as the weight of that roof pushes the thing down hill
Also leaks a little - don't know of anyones that doesn't to be honest newer and older, mine is the rear side windows drip a little.
Power!!!! where does it all go, 1.9DCI 120BHP, doesn't feel like it sometimes but have read a lot about this, seems to be quite a big issue, the 130 seems to go better think they where 05 onwards.
Tyre ware - watch them some are not to bad others are horrific - on both front and rear - rear is a fixed axel so no adjustments if you have to track it pay out and get 4 wheel laser tracking it is worth it - rear camber kits are availble to adjust them now.
But I tihnk what most anoys me about this car is its cheap technology, they have a good Idea then make it affordable by cutting costs, for example mine has hands free locking, which only works when it feels like it both locking and unlocking, the Navigation is a great idea but use the cheapest possible does not do post codes only roads and takes ages to calculate your route - example I left Liverpool airport and told it to go home in the car park it took from the airport car park to the M56 to calculate the route! that was one of the longest but why so long? it is stupid thing like headlamp and indicator bulbs have to be done up a wheel arch, great if you are a vet, problem if you have hands like a navvy, the seat belts are to far back so if you are shorter you strugle to reach them, why not fastern them to the seat like the BMW's, tons of room up front but none in the rear at all the cabin is really wide nice armrest but the seat wears where the seatbelt rubs as it is to close to the door.
You can tell it was rushed out to compete with the Peugeot CC why they did not tweak it after I don't know, the card is also a crap idea - in jeans it either sticks in your crotch or bends in your back pocket should have left it a key!
That is a bare analisys of my own car and thoughts, I do quite like the car but it takes some getting use to depending on what you come from, can be expensive to repair but arnt all modern cars now
Just make sure the roof opens ok no funny noises has to be quite quick and smooth, check on cambelt, look at tyres both front and rear if it is a dealer car they will possibly need changing to you can see any issues with track etc, check for leaks under boot carpet and under both seats there is a small slot you can get your hand in under both seats from the rear find it and push fingers in to feel underlay this is where water congrigates (old Renault saleman told me), check hand brake button pushess in ok and realease brake ok (another renault problem unsolved) make sure your windows go right down and up all 4 to the top look also for speed of windows if you have one lagging behind it could be possible problem, if it has hands free it should unlock by putting your hand inbetween the handle and door from the top, does not always pick up 2 fingers, to lock it press the buttom on the door handle it should lock, will also lock from the renault boot badge, and unlock the boot from the little button where the number plate lights are.
Keep any eye out for airfresheners in the car possibly hiding moldy smells, to start car foot on clutch and press button, foot can also be used on brake pedal but this is an override of the clutch start. I think that is it really can't think of any more.
Are you getting it from a dealer (not a Renault dealer), if so watch the warranty as it will porbally NOT cover the roof a Renault dealers possibly will but as usual at a cost....
Any problems with it post on here there are a few who can help before the dreded take it to garage comes up thereare a few other Renault sites as well.
Have fun with it, especially nice in the summer with the lid off! :D
I don't think they are much differant to many other modern convertable really they all have quirky problems and I don't care what you say if you have two joints across the top of your roof which open and close do you really belive they will stay water tight for ever, most manufactures can't even get a sunroof to stay sealed!
