Battery advice please....

Our 2004 2.0L manual dynamique cc is in need of a new battery and I was looking at the varta silver series - has anyone had experience with this type of battery or could anyone recommend a suitable replacement please...
Whilst I think on, is it possible to use a 1.9L diesel battery from a 1994 megane?
I hope that I have put the information required for someone to supply me an answer.

I bought a Varta Silver for mine last year, so far - No complaints.

I wouldn't use a battery dated 1994.

All you really need to check is the peak current output and amp/hour ratings are at least, or better than, the existing battery, and that the dimensions are not so big that it won't fit.

Some manufacturers have better reputations than others, so you will have to make a decision based on how much you wish to spend.

Ooops sorry I meant 2004 1.9 diesel megane... not 1994 the battery from the diesel megane is only a few months old...

If it physically fits in the tray, shouldn't be a problem. Diesel batteries usually have a better specification than petrol ones. My only concern is the state of the charge of the battery. If it has been left for a few months it may have become discharged (which means that it will never regain full capacity). On the other hand, if you have been using it regularly, there should not be any problem.
