Evening all. Newbie here hoping to find some help for my Megane.
2007 (56) Megane cc 1.6
I bought it for a run around but when I removed the N/S/F wheel to put aftermarket alloys on only 3 bolts were tight the 4th just spinning. When I put them back in upon tightening one sheared so only 2 bolts holding the wheel in place (haven't driven since lol). What are my options, is it a complete hub replacement and is it possible to do on my drive (any special tools involved), also are they the same hubs throughout the range of meganes or different hubs on different aged cars (do they have to be from a similar aged cc). I haven't checked the other 3 wheels yet (I daren't) but was thinking of buying a scrapper and using it as a donor vehicle,

Re: Wheel hubs
They are mostly the same you might find abs connector on the end of cable different so just clip your own on vwry early megs 03 and some early 04 had smaller ball joints so hub carrier is differnt at that end I think the hub is press out so look on ebay for a carrier I got one for £20 just make sure the aba ring is good they have a tendency to rust and fall apart result abs light on only remedy then new wheel bearing the hub was easier option

Re: Wheel hubs
Cheers, found out by part searching that driveshafts and bearings differ between 1.4 & 1.6, ended up getting a new wheel hub and replaced the bearings whilst it was out, just got it back from garage and hoping the others aren't the same way or its gonna cost me again

Re: Wheel hubs
Just snapped a wheel bolt in mine apparently so my renault friend tells me its a regular thing bolts are to soft. Driveshafts.... I supose your right never thought of them but when I look for 2nd hand parts (not often) I try for same cc most parts are interchangeable between cabrio and hatch and some r cabrio specific. Enjoy her had mine 7 years now not been much trouble at all no more than any other car to be honest.
