What Oil?

Hi.

Megane 2005 (December) 1.6 petrol.

No idea what oil is in it currently what oil should i be pouring in it?

I don't know what's in it. So I guess that rules out full synthetic doesn't it as it's a waste if there is already some cheap stuff in there. So what's a good sensible buy for oil that would make my 103,000 mile engine smile at me

I don't even know if it should be 5W40 or if it's something else, I vaguely think that. But not even 100% sure of that.

I ended up caving and going into the dreaded Halfords as I went past last night, as it beeped at me telling me i needed some oil and their charts all seemed to say 5W40 so I might have got the wrong stuff but hey that's what it's going to eat for the near future :0
