Air Con Unit replacing Manual with digital

Hello.

I have a '55 1.6 petrol. With the manual air conditioning unit in it. The backlights do not work on this, and i understand that there is not a bulb that can be replaced in this unit? Is this right and I basically need to replace the whole air con module?

If so can I just replace it with the digital air con module? I was just assuming it would plug in to the same connector?

No, the digital panel will not work, as it requires a climate control aircon.
