Roof again 06 cc

Postby JockYamaha » Sun Jul 19, 2015 4:41 pm

;-) Right guys i have an issue with the roof on my wife,s cc. do you need the bat wings on the rear shelf as they have broken off by my father in law they jammed in the roof bars and snapped. he said the roof was working perfect untill he took the battery of to recharge it as the car has been stood about a year or so. i have had it to go down after about 20 mins of messing about with it but thought i wouldn't get it back up again it took for ever to go back up. do i have to have a new rear shelf. i have got a new one. well second hand in great nick. Renault wanted £754+vat for new. without fitting :eek
and do i have to have the roof reset. comes up on dash check roof all the time now. and electrical
problem light has come on.any advice would be great guys. im handy with spanners but not electric haha. cheers guys... :pc out

It's bound to be sluggish if it's been stood for a year I always ran the engine when opening or closing the roof , replace the broken bits as there are micro switches on the roof that could be reporting the problem, then connect up to a diagnostic equipment and have the codes read and sort out from there , possibly just a reset, don't open or close if the battery is a bit goosed with out the engine running

cheers free lander. battery is good and haven't tried it without engine running m8.. have put my laptop on it to read errors, but it tells me cant read codes. Only on 2 faults. telling me dealer only? can read them 2. nothing stored either. think i might take it to Renault to reset it. my software works on everything else on the car :conf can i change the rear Shelf with out roof down cheers again. much appreciate it.

Have a look in here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12790 for the manual for the roof
a few of the people on here use the elm27 ( thinks that's what it's called ) bought of eBay and use your tablet or Android phone with the torque app installed to read the codes
