setting alarm with roof down

Postby mitachu » Sun Jun 15, 2014 6:19 pm

Right, my CC has an alarm but I'm damned if I know how to actually set it. I want to leave the roof down on the car with the windows up but make it so if anyone leans into the car or it is nudged, the alarm goes off. Going on past experience when I have accidentally set the alarm off, this is possible. When I have actively tried to set the alarm off though, it's not gone off.
I know there are tricks to do with the Start button being pressed five times but could anyone explain what the process is for, how it works, and how's best to set the alarm when I want to leave the roof down, please??

Cheers!

I have the same question. I have been told that the way to activate the alarm is double-click the lock button on the key card. I have tried several times, with windows down or windows up but with no joy :(

WIth my Megane CC you cut the engine out, open drivers door, press start button 5 times remove card and when you lock the car it should beep. The sensors are now de activated :)

Took me a few goes to get the hang of it :)

Opps didn't read post properly, If the roof is down and you have pressed start 5 times to de activate the sensors then the alarm wont go of if you lean inside car ect.

I only lock it with roof down for short periods if it's parked somewhere safe :)

lol I had the same problem on my 08 when I brought it from main dealers I sent it back to be told some CC missed having the alarm fitted its got the wiring loom but nothing else!

To check have roof closed open boot look on right hand side of boot there is a gab where the boot hinges goes look down there and if there is not a siren then its only got a cat 2 alarm not cat 1 that is advertised on Meagan cc I got renault to fit a AUTOWATCH BUSCAM alarm for free as they advertised it with a cat1 alarm

hope this makes sense and helps

To switch of sensors with roof down is simple.
1 switch off engine
2 remove card from slot
3 wait for steering lock to activate. (Important bit, you must wait for this lock)
4 as soon as you hear this lock activate feet off pedals. Press start button 5 good presses
5 get out of car and lock it
6 listern! From the rear driver side just behind rear seat you should a few bleeps around 4 they r not very loud so listen for them you should hear them almost as soon as you loc k it once u hear these bleeps car islocked but ultra sonics are off.

2004 meg cc. Works every time.

My alarm does it on its own, if roof down and windows up once I arm the alarm it's fine but soon as you learn over window the sensors detect movement causing alarm to go off, just thought this was standard

mine is the same...

I assume you have a microwave sensor mounted behind the curtosy light like myself rather than the 2 sensor system of old..
