wind screen cracked

Just got back home after 11 day away to find the windscreen has cracked straight across , I had a stone chip repaired and its cracked from there, I am blaming the heat , great while we have been away but now going to cost me on the insurance

When they repair a stone chip they usually guarantee the screen for life, is this not the case with yours?

I know a screen claim doesn't affect your excess but still, if you can avoid paying the £70 excess or whatever that's even better.

It was done for me when I bought the car by the garage, not national repairers £65 for my excess
