Aftermarket Angel eye headlights misting up?

Postby pete31 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 1:38 pm

Hi guys,

I hope there is someone that can help me; I have a set of aftermarket angel eye headlights and for some reason one of them (offside) keeps misting up. I know the first thing someone will say is put the old ones back, even with the hot weather we have had I washed the car and it misted up again :?
Have I done something wrong when fitting them? And does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

All help will be grateful.

I cant really help you with an answer to this but angel eye headlights are supposed to be a bit renouned for misting up. My standard lights mist up ever so slightly, but do clear up, and one provides a comfortable tomb for a daddy long legs. Good luck with the answer :-)

if there steaming up, then moisture must be getting into the lights, try taking them off and getting something to put round the seal of the glass and back plastic casing

I had the same problem , it's a easy fix you will need a few tools

A star screw driver kit
A heat gun
Silicon and silicon gun

The star kit will be needed to get the bumper and head lights off.

Once you have removed the head lights heat around the gently so you don't melt the plastic so that the factory's seel breaks separating the lense and the back of the light

Clean away all the old sealer and silicon

Resilicon the area don't be shy with it, and push the lense back on . Leave to dry

Worked for me hope it works for u
