Recon Gearbox crunching in second gear

Ive just fitted a recon gearbox to find that is grinding from first to second gear. Im not very please with the place that supplied the gearbox but they are not open now till wednesday. Could there be something else that ive missed to cause this before i give the bloke a earfull when i get i touch with him
