Trip computer intermittently resets itself in the mornings
This has happened twice now (Thursday, Friday) but not yesterday (Saturday) though I was expecting it to, basically, the trip computer is as if it has been reset with everything reading afresh except for the permanent engine mileage, nothing else gets reset i.e. car audio settings, it's just that trip computer, any ideas what it could be?

I might be wrong, but I think I read somewhere about this fault occurring if the wipers
were left on or something similar? Might be worth checking

Re: Trip computer intermittently resets itself in the mornin
I don't know if this helps only I have a 2.0 litre petrol cc but use a Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi as a daily hack cos it's so cheap to run. I had exactly the same thing happening on the pug last winter, turned out to be the battery had seen better days. The voltage during start up cranking fell below the critical voltage needed to sustain the trip computer and so it reset even though the car always started OK. With the colder weather and if yours is a diesel might just be the case, get the battery tested at a tyre service it's usually free. Since I fitted the new battery it hasn't happened since and that was 8 months ago.

I did think it could be the battery but then thought if it was lack of power, the car stereo would lose all settings so then discarded that thought, however I remember cleaning my car on one of those mornings and saw the trip computer still giving a correct readout, then after I started the car, it zeroised so it could well be related to the battery at ignition.
I will go ahead and get the battery checked, however my last car (Alfa 147 diesel) had a dying battery, but when it was checked various times, the read out was always coming back as healthy even though I knew it was dying. If it continues to happen, I'll just get a new one as it'll only get worse through the cold weathers.
Thanks for all feedback.
