Rear bench seat pulls up, i tis on spring clips that pop into place, there is one in the middle and one on either side (3 alltogether) put your fingers under the seat edge pull it up a little and move your fingera along you will not only see where th eeat is tight you will fee lthem as well get as close as possible to them and a swift upward pull or lever them if tight with a long screwdriver will "pop" them off the clips, don't pull to far from them you will bend seat frame. front lifts up and slides out.
As for leaks, 1st place I would look is the scuttle panel drains infront of the wind screen, usual give away is the sound of water when cornering shaply running behind the dash, the drians will block with debris under the car or fromt the top like mine with decaying leaves, clear out with a hose you may need to poke em as well as I did to get the water moving, if they are blocked water level rises inside this panel and will eventualy reach the cable outlet gromets here is where it will enter the car, would also check door seal as water could seep under it and run under the plastic cill cover directly then under the carpet, would also have a quick look under the car just to make sure no gromets are missing from under it.
Bear in mind water leaks are one of the hardest faults to trace, and may take a lot of patience to find.
If it leaked from the roof you usally see it dripping in to the car, window seals usually show up with water running down inside of window, internal door leaks are difficult as they could be many things largest culprit is the plastic door sheet has been compromised in other words a hole cut, pulled away and not stuck back, etc usually sign of work done inside door, some times the plastic sheet gets removed altogether and not repalced, all cause water ingress inside the car.
You need to watch for where it gets wet, Drive, road, on the move, parked etc, then how is parked up hill, down hill. flat, leaning etc all make a differance to water movement on the car.
Water leaks are the bain of most tecs lives, you can spend days looking for them! Good luck.

hi
i had the same problem with my megane cc it turned out to be the air conditioning valve under the car it is a small valve that lets water out when your air conditioning is on, but mine became closed shut as it was under the heat shield for the exhausyt system it is a small rubber valve it melted slightly closing it up and making the water drips overflow into the passenger footwell, i simply bent back my heat shield to reviel the valve and removed the valve put the heat shield back and dried my car that was just over 5 months ago up to now the problem is fixed
a little test you can to see if the valve on your vehicle is blocked/closed is to run your air conditioning system for around 10 minuites and look under your car if there is drips of water coming from under your car then it is not you valve but if there is no drips of water then that may be your problem
let me know if this helped cheers

Re: water in footwells need opinons please!!!!
I read the above posts. I had been out in very heavy rain 3 months ago and ended up with abour 3-4 litres of water in the passenger side footwell. I park on a driveway which is fairly steep so the water was in the rear passenger footwell.
I vaccumed this out and thought no more about it intill last week when I had weird electrical faults, ( Hazard lights randomly coming on either when driving or stationary and flattening the battery).
So today I felt the carpet, found it slightly damp, so I removed the passenger seat and went under the carpet to find 3 very large wiring loom connectors under the carpet! The front passenger side is supported by a very soggy piece of MDF board!.
Im drying this out, but who ever designed a convertible with electrical connectors below the carpet is somewhat lacking in the brain department.
I will let you know if this clears the fault, but still wonder how so much water got it. I hope it came in under the door in the local flooding and not though windows or roof panels etc.

I'm having a similar problem with mine, but on the drivers side. I t appears to be leaking at the join between the door window an the rear quarter light. It looks like the door window is going too high, so when you close the door it hits the seal on the roof and stops it sealing onto the rear quarter light. I am sure I read somewhere you can adjust the stop position of the windows?
I can get round it by pushing the glass into the seal with the door shut, but does anyone know how to adjust the door window height?
John
Edited to add: Adjusted the window, but also found the drains in the scuttle were blocked, see my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=20807
