roof rattling help please

hi got a 57 cabriolet got a really annoying rattle. seems worse in winter, but i think its getting worse full stop. after ages of pushing pulling investigations i think its coming from front of roof locking mechanism, when im driving over these rough tarmac roads, rattle is heard but when i push forward just behind sunvisor (front of glass roof) the rattles disappears. anybody had this problem? please help its drivin me mad!!!

hi, have found that the chrome pin that the roof locks latches around works loose (located at top of windscreen area) just a gentle tap back in place and peace is restored!! till next time?

Check that none of the roof lining clips have come loose.

I have heard the cables that operate the catches above the front screen can sometimes rattle a bit over pot holes, it could be those you hear, I belive the fix is to re secure as well as wrapping in that thin polystryene foam that some people use as packing protection it is like a sheet usually covers glass and the likes, no idea what its real name is!
