Megane 1.5dci wont crank?

Hi to all here on the forum,
I'm new here so pls forgive me for posting a trouble shooting post as my first post but I really didn't know where to turn..
I've just purchased a megane mk3 1.5dci which I'm very pleased with, however the thing will not start off the button, card goes in and all lights come on fine, I'm using a spanner to bridge the solenoid on the starter as it's very accessible and it starts straight away, I've replaced the brake switch sensor but still no joy, no warning lights on the dash once it's running and I've plugged into the snap on but there are no faults logged.... any ideas where to look next would be greatful as I cant keep starting it with a spanner every morning...
