Acceleration problem

I can be drivng along the road change gears but if I put my foot on the accelerator hard as if to over take the engine revs especially 3rd gear onwards. the revs go up and it is like I'm driving in ice and going nowhere. Then if I take my foot off the car surges forward.. No error codes showing on obd2 any help
