Clicking noise from doors + check airbag light

Postby palle22 » Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:41 pm

Hi

My Megane III stc. (2012) has recently turned the service light on along with a "Check airbag" message. It turns on shortly after starting the engine; a clicking/locking noise appears from the doors, and the lights are on.

I have found several mentions of "Check airbag" errors related to the megane II (here it is related to wire-connectors under the seats), but I dont see any wires under the carpet in the Megane III.

Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Best regards

Hi,

Not had similar problems but like you have heard wiring and connecter under seat can be at fault. Not sure if the coupe and hatchback are the same but on my coupe;

The cable can be seen easily from the passenger or drivers footwell looking under the seat. It comes up from the floorpan to the seat about six inches back from the lever that slides the seat. It has a outer sheath in similar material to the carpet so does blend in a bit. As always remember to disconnect the battery if testing/plugging unplugging any airbag circuits for safety
