ABS warning light & hissing when using brakes

Postby kingmunky » Fri Mar 02, 2018 10:29 am

Two days ago I got an ABS light up after the car sat in the cold/snow for a while - took it for a quick run and the light disappeared after a few quick stabs on the brake pedal.

Today, I went to drive it and noticed a hissing noise coming from the passenger footwell whenever I press the brakes, this continues whether I'm driving and stationary. I'm not sure if I've just never noticed it it's because I usually drive with the a/c and radio on or if it's just occured but I think I would haven noticed before now.

Brakes are performing normally - no softness in the pedal, brake fluid level is normal, no signs of leaks externally. From what I've read elsewhere, albeit for other Renault models, the brake servo is going to need replaced. Can anyone confirm this from the description above? HAs anyone had to do this and can you advise on an approx cost?

TIA.
