Meg III Tourer anyone got one? and some questions..

Postby dalerobins » Sat Aug 01, 2009 10:49 am

My meg II 1.5dci sport tourer dynamique went back to renault after 2 years of constant problems, water leaks, blowing EGR valves, non starting, sat nav failing, electrical faults etc.

I need to order a new car and I have a dillema, the Meg III tourer or a Volvo v50.

Has anyone got one of these yet?, have renault got their act together?, is it much of an improvement on the meg II?

I really did like the drive of my meg II when it worked, I found it a really comfy car especially as I do on average 200 miles a day.

Also, what size are the front door speakers, are they little 13's like the meg II?, I found the sound quality on my carminat becker fantastic but lacking in bottom end.

So its a toss up with a Meg III tourer with everything or a Base model V50 with bugger all, not even colour coded bumpers lol.

Thanks,
Dale

I would personally go with the meggy 3. I have been in one or two of them and the finish is top not.I really thought it was on power with or great than the likes of a VW, Audi, BMW.

And going by the amount of them I am seeing on the road now I’m not the only one to think.

Reno are moving away from the from the middle of the affordable range to the higher end IMO and doing a good job of it.

When my warranty is up I’ll have a new one.

My Dad has a 5dr 1.5dCi 106 Privilege, very nice car and well built and no complaints after 3000 miles.

The tourer has only just been introduced I think?

I tried Megane Grandtour today. It was a 1.9dCi expression model with dual zone auto aircon, cruise control, Tom-Tom inbuilt satnav, and lots of other stuff. Car drives perfectly. Has much better feel of steering, and is much more spacious in the front. Back end lacks space in height (I'm 1.90m with 105Kgthough), but otherwise a huge improvement over the previous model. The engine cannot be heard unless revving it hard. And there's no need to rev it up, because there's loads of power even below 2000rpm. I'm definately buying one in black. Good job Renault. Almost forgot: there's a pic of meggy grandtour on satnav instead of the arrow.

Well the car turned up today, I really dont think the finish is top notch.. It's plasticy, cheap they have cut a lot of corners.

Could you elaborate on the above?

No cup holders, cheaper material for the seats, door plastic seems/feels cheaper, awful sound on the hifi, no tweeters!, dash doesnt feel as nice plastic feels cheaper, elephant skin steering wheel, no rear blinds in the back!, lots of little things, cant find much improvements!.. And you cant turn tomtom off!!, its distracting.

Hi
I have the new megane sport tourer, and...it´s a disaster. Many electrical problems, the doors, the on-board computer, the lights, the connection audio box, etc.
the diagnostic software of the office, that is incompatible.
The car have 3 weeks, and I already gone to the renault repairer 4 times.
Don´t buy it.
