I changed the oil, oil filter and air filter on this car for the first time myself last weekend, usually I got the garage to do it when I had other work done.
I used a Sealy vacuum extractor which worked well, but takes time. I know people debate the merits of topside oil removal, but I'm happy enough with it and the oil filter is changed from above anyway (remember to drive the car to get the junk suspended in the oil first). I had an oil filter adaptor which made removing that a cinch. Cleanest oil change I've ever done
I change my oil every 9k miles, as I consider 18k way too long.
Parts:
Millers XF Longlife C4 5w30 oil which 'meets' Renault 0720 as I have DPF.
