FROZEN ELECTRIC WINDOWS

Postby speedwaydthom » Wed Jan 16, 2013 10:18 am

My wife has a 2012 Limited Edition Megane Floride which is parked on our drive overnight. It is fitted with a feature which slightly opens the electric window when you open the doors and closes them when doors are shut again. Nice feature which prevents water ingress I believe to window regulator etc. Not so clever in icy conditions however and I want to deactivate this in present weather conditions to prevent the motor becoming damaged when the doors are opened in freezing conditions and windows are literally frozen solid. Dealer cannot offer a solution. Any ideas would be most appreciated - remove fuse for instance or small paraffin heater in car overnight?
