car wont start with clutch

i have a 2008 1.6 petrol megane.


over the past few days i have noticed that it wont start when in gear and using clutch, it does however start when pressing the brake pedal.

i have read about clutch switch wiring faults on earlier models is this an easy repair to do and does anyone have a pic of the switch so i know what to look for...

i have found out that it is the wires that go into the clutch switch, they have a break just as they go into the plug which in turn plugs into the clutch switch.....

there is very little room to look around in the footwell, so was just wondering is it an easy job to remove the plug and re-attach the (lengthened) wires, or is it possible to buy a new plug to attach (spoke to renault parts earlier and they didn't seem to think you could purchase just the plug, instead a new loom at £270+ would need to be purchased.....i dont think so)

The repair can be carried out using about £1 of cable and solder.
