boinggg noise from front

hi all, i have a 2004 1.9 dci, i have like a boing kind of noise coming from the front of the car, it happens when i turn the steering left and right from centre position, i have put my hand on the front springs, and the drivers side one seems to jump a little causing the noise, does anyone know what would cause this to happen?
this is my first renault and not too up on them, any help would be great,
if anyone knows the problem, how hard a job is it to fix? cheers all..

It will be the top mount (strut bearing) as said above.

Or the spring has become unseated.

Either way i wouldnt be driving her to far. That bong sound is cauced by metal on metal and is only doing more damage every time you hear it.
