hi all, i am new to the forum, i have just bought a 2004 1.9 dci, the passengers front window wasn't working, after taking off the door panel to have a look, i have found that the regulator that is connected to the window motor has burnt, when i say burnt i mean the plastic has slightly melted, has anyone else had this?
also i have noticed that when i turn the steering from side to side i get like a boing!! type of noise sounds like a spring, i have had a look at the springs and both look ok, but if i put my hand on the passengers side spring i can move it side to side slightly, is this right?
any help would be great, thanks..

Re: burnt window regulator
Window motors are no problem to replace. Well at a cost of about £60 for the unit.
As to the spring sound.
You need check that the spring is properly seated with in the retention cup.
If there is movement you may find that the the strut bearing ( the part that hold the spring at the top) may need replaced.

Not exactly the best placed questions.
But if you have a spring compressor and decent socket set it can be done in an afternoon.
Really not a difficult job.
