RPM Problems

Hi All,

My Megane 1.4 Hatchback is revving up and down, then last night it was droping to 500 r.p.m when on stop. Also has been cutting out when driving. Any ideas? It also idles at 1300 r.p.m. All of these are random. Please can somebody help?

It might be something related to either the throttle body or a vacuum leak in the intake manifold behind the throttle body (gaskets/throttle/antipollution/brake servo). Less likely - check the fuelling and O2 sensor.
