crumbling megane

Postby peterdewolf » Wed Sep 03, 2014 4:12 pm

Having a suspected cambelt problem so chasing DIY information. I have a 2003 1600, 16v, megane cabriolet and according to renault it's supposed to have a K4M engine so I'm studying online manuals for that engine. But the layout of the auxilary belts on the K4M does not match my megane engine. My belts are lying from to back lower down on the engine and the K4M lie top to bottom. So what engine manual should I be looking for

OK I've learned that I have a mk 1 K4m and I'm stuck in to changing this out and can now see that the belt is broken. There are demos online how to change a belt but just wondering what my procedure is if I'm dealing with a broken one.
