car wont start

sometimes my megane 1.4 16v 2001 will not start, no warning lights come on or the imboliser light does not flash. i have to lock and un lock the car a few times before the engine starts

please can some1 help!!

How old is the battery?
Silver 08 plate 5dr 1.5dci Dynamique 106 Tech Run (re-mapped)

i read this yesterday but didnt relise the age of it. i once had a old shape megane on a s reg and before you could start you would have to lock and unlock the doors once. this was renos imobiliser for the megane so its likly urs has this device, but it may just be faulty so therefore intermitent.
