i have a 97 1.9d megane rn, and the heater doesn't work. what i mean by doesn't work is that it only blows cold.
i changed the thermostat, but made no difference, even took off the heater control dial to see if it was put on wrong LOL.
Could it be the resistor ?, and can they be bought at a motor factors ?.
its freezing out there, and a baby due soon, so i need it sorted fast, if any1 can give me a idea of how to sort this out, id be very grateful.
many thnx

Re: Can any1 help ?
Would have suggested the thermo stat but you've already done that, next place to look would be the heater matrix itself. Either it or the supply pipes to it are probably blocked. As to get to it sorry I've no idea as its probably buried under the dash or under the scuttle panel at the bottom of the windscreen.
Hope this helps

You're probably looking at a new radiator (heater matrix), the one that hot water from the engine comes in. I think it is located behind the dashboard. Does your car have AC?

Re: Can any1 help ?
Probably got an air lock in it or debris in the pipework. Drain the coolant, reverse flush it until the water is clear, and refill with fresh. Don't know about the older models, but there are bleed valves near the heater on more recent models (as well as in the engine bay).
Also the temperature control dial may not be physically moving the air source flap under the dashboard. Check the cabling is sound.

It had a high view count as it was posted in the incorrect section. The site is primarily aimed for Megane 2 owners but a few of us have had the Megane 1 or have technical knowledge to assist.
