hydrolic tappets megane cabriolet 1999

hi there first renault i have had not used it for a few weeks went out to start it and it whould not tick over propper i reved it a bit and then i ticked over ok but then started to tap from the top end like no oil geting to tappets oil pump ok replaced tappets all 16 but its still tapping any ideas have i used wrong oil or is there some thing more wrong thanks any help will be good

have you checked the oil level?
Meg2 Sedan, 1.6VVT, Hologram Grey, Climate Control, 16" alloys, Pioneer DEH-P6900IB, JBL GTO527, Pioneer TS-Q131-C, Osram Silverstar, NGK Iridium plugs
