6 years ago my dad picked up an X-reg 2.0 16v auto Scenic. It's had nothing apart from the annual MOT and fresh tyres when needed. It was meant to be a temporary car while he was refurbishing his flat (great for tip runs, materials, etc, it had a hard life.)
It survived the flat refurb and has given him 4 years of trouble free motoring. My folks are off around europe in a moterhome and i'm using the car to check up on the flat while they're away.
And the cam belt has let go on the 2nd time i use the bugger! (sounded like the tensioner went first, i had a bang, a few seconds of nasty grinding/clattering, then death)
I'm assuming these are interference engines and i won't get away with just throwing a cam belt kit at it.
Soooo, what engine did they use? I've run peugeot/citroen for the last decade and i'm out of my comfort zone. (tried googling and i keep finding 200bhp+ stuff and i'm pretty sure it didn't have that!)
Thanks.
What engine in 2.0 16v?

Just buy another car. This one is not worth fixing. IMHO, of course.
