problem with my headlights

hi all,
I have recently purchased a megane (2002) but i have a problem with the headlights, they won't go from dipped to full beam any more, they were working fine, but then all of a sudden i couldn't get them to change, as it is on both sides i was wondering if it could be a fuse. any suggestions would be welcome.

have you checked the lamps , but seams funny if both stopped working at same time , fuse , wiring or light stalk/switch

The current is too high for the stalk - there should be a relay somewhere...
