mode test....?

mode test....?
ok . had steering lock broken warning and car wouldnt start. tried a different battery and car started.. bought new battery and started car. now it says 'mode test'. and my dials are going up and down. its still doing this after i have switched the engine off and locked the car... has anybody seen this before? what should i do?

press the button on the dials that resets the trip miles, that will sort it.

thanks mate. it stopped itself! car drives fine. windows need reset though .. steering lock still broken but i dont miss it!

my steering lock is tempremental. i don't really know what exactly triggers it to lock!

Yeah i had that last week when i was resetting the trip mileage and started car at same time.
Anybody know what it's actually for?

to enter test mode...card in slot, press computer stalk, press start button for 2 secs.
so easily done by accident.
to cancel test mode...press the trip mileage reset button (on the rev counter surround).
i think it's a different sequence to start/stop for facelift models ?

The steering not locking, or at least the message "Steering Not Locked" can be attributed to the wiring under either front seat. I had this in combination with the airbag and service light. Fiddling with the wiring under my driver side seat and the connector that's just under the carpet cleared it. I know others have experienced this where it was under the passenger side seat.
